The 125th birth anniversary of Alluri Sitarama Raju was observed recently. Born on 4 July 1897 near Bhimavaram in Andhra Pradesh, he was an Indian revolutionary who led an armed campaign against the British colonial rule in India.
In August 1922, he launched what is now known as the Rampa Rebellion against the British.

The Odisha government has introduced the Mo Jungle Jami Yojana, a scheme designed to enhance forest rights for tribal communities and forest dwellers in various districts of the state.
This initiative will work in conjunction with the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006, commonly known as FRA.

The foundation stone for the Inland Waterways Transport (IWT) terminal at Bogibeel in Dibrugarh, Assam was laid recently.
The terminal, located on the bank of the Brahmaputra River (National Waterways 2), will serve as a tourist-cum-cargo facility.

According to a recent study published in the journal JAMA Network, India witnessed the highest global prevalence of childhood diabetes cases and fatalities in 2019, alongside holding the record for the highest disability-adjusted life-years (DALY) burden.
As per the World Health Organization, a single DALY signifies the deprivation of one year of overall well-being and optimal health.

As per Kenya’s proposed National Health Insurance Fund Regulations (NHIF) of 2023, employed individuals in the country will soon be mandated to contribute 2.75% of their monthly income to NHIF. The NHIF was chosen by the government as the key executor of UHC due to its extensive experience in health insurance and existing infrastructure.
