Ministry of Women and Child Development has issued detailed guidelines for ‘Mission Shakti’ scheme.
‘Mission Shakti’  was launched as an integrated women empowerment programme as umbrella scheme for the safety, security and empowerment of women for implementation during the 15th Finance Commission period 202l-22 to 2025-26. ‘Mission Shakti’ has two sub-schemes – ‘Sambal’ and ‘Samarthya’. A new component of Nari Adalats (women courts) to facilitate alternative dispute resolution was also announced.

Notes:
India reported its first monkey-pox case in the state of Kerala. The sample of a 35-year-old man, which was sent to the National Virology Institute in Pune, tested positive for the disease.
The man is said to have arrived in Kerala from the UAE three days ago. Monkeypox is a viral zoonotic disease with symptoms similar to smallpox, with a lesser clinical severity.

Notes:
The rate of inflation based on All-India Wholesale Price Index (WPI) number is 15.18% for the month of June, 2022 (over June, 2021).
This is lower than the WPI number of 15.88% in May 2022. The high rate of inflation this month is primarily due to rise in prices of mineral oils, food articles, crude petroleum & natural gas, basic metals, chemicals & chemical products, food products etc.

Notes:
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry authorised the continuation of the Scheme for Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies (RoSCTL) with the same rates as announced by the Ministry of Textiles for exports of apparel and made-ups until March 31, 2024.
This aims to increase exports and generate employment in the textile industry.
