Sanjeev Singh, who is a specially-abled (Divyang) cricketer, composed and sung the theme song of India for the Tokyo Paralympics. The theme song “Kar De Kamaal Tu” was launched by Anurag Thakur, the Sports Minister of India.
In the Tokyo Olympics, a record number of 54 athletes  from India will participate in nine sports disciplines.
The Paralympic Committee of India (PIC) is the body responsible for selecting athletes to represent India at the Paralympic Games and other International athletic meets. It was founded in 1992 and was known as the ‘Physically Handicapped Sports Federation of India’. Rao Inderjit Singh is the current President of the Paralympic Committee of India.

Nelliyode Vasudevan Namboothiri was a Kathakali artist. He belonged to Kerala. He was known for his vibrant portrayal of the evil chuvanna thaadi roles of the classical Kathakali dance-drama from Kerala. He was a scholar in Sanskrit and Hindu Puranas and was a recipient of several awards including Kendra Sangeet Natak Akademi, Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi award, Kerala State Kathakali Prize etc.
Kathakali is a Hindu performance art in the Malayalam-speaking southwestern region of Kerala and one of the major classical dance form of India.

Notes:
Neeraj Chopra qualifies for the Javelin throw final on August 4, 2021. He topped the Group A qualification with a big throw of 86.65m . Subedar Neeraj Chopra, VSM is an Indian track and field athlete and a Junior Commission Officer in Indian Army. He is the first Indian to ever win a World title in  Track and Field at U-20. He belongs to Panipat (Haryana).

The first orchid conservation centre of North India has been inaugurated in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The main purpose of the conservation centre is to conserve orchid species and create ventures for tourism and livelihood for local people.
Orchid is a flowering plant and its scientific name is Orchidaceae.
All orchid species are protected under Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). CITES was enforced on 1 July, 1975.
Ivonne Higuero is the current Secretary-General of CITES. It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.

Nikol Pashinyan, the chairman of the Civil Contract Party has been re-appointed as the Prime Minister of Armenia. He was first appointed as the Prime Minister in 2018.
President Armen Srkissian approved Pashinyan’s candidacy for the post of Prime Minister of Armenia.
