Kesavananda Bharati Case is a landmark case where the Supreme Court defined the basic structure of the Indian Constitution. The judgement for this case was delivered on April 24, 1973.
The case is also known as the Fundamental Rights Case. The Supreme Court asserted its right to strike down amendments to the constitution that were in violation of the fundamental architecture of the constitution.

World Book and Copyright Day is observed every year on April 23 to promote the habit of reading, writing, publishing and copyright.
The first World Book Day was observed in 1995. International Decade of Indigenous Languages will be observed from 2022 to 32. The UNESCO theme of the World Book Day 2023 is ‘Indigenous Languages’.

The ‘Asia-Pacific Leaders’ Conclave on Malaria Elimination’ will be organized in New Delhi by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in partnership with the Asia Pacific Leaders Malaria Alliance (APLMA) as a precursor to World Malaria Day.
Its goal is to reaffirm political commitment to achieve malaria elimination by 2030.

‘Mehngai Rahat Camp’ was recently inaugurated by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. They will provide relief for people from rising inflation.
Under these camps, the general public and deprived sections will be provided relief from inflation by connecting them with the public welfare schemes of the state government.

The country’s first water-based metro service started commercial operations in Kochi, Kerala. Water Metro ferries began their commercial operation on the Vyttila-Kakkanad route.
Kochi Water Metro saw a footfall of 6,559 passengers. Manufactured by Cochin Shipyard Limited, the metro project will run eight electric hybrid boats on two routes.
