Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) introduced a new facility for pensioners to submit their digital life certificate.
Under the new ‘Face recognition facility’, pensioners can now submit their digital life certificate on the EPFO portal from anywhere in the country. Union Minister of Labour and Employment Bhupender Yadav launched the face authentication technology.

India and Vietnam have commenced the 3rd edition of Vietnam-India bilateral army exercise ‘Ex VINBAX 2022’.
The 20 day military exercise is scheduled to be conducted at Chandimandir in Haryana. The theme of the exercise is deployment of an Engineer Company and a Medical Team as part of United Nations Contingent for Peacekeeping Operations.

The organisers of the 2024 Paris Olympics unveiled ‘Games Wide Open’ as they announced prices for tickets for the fans.
In French, the slogan is ‘Ouvrons grand les Jeux’. The 2024 Summer Olympics or the 33^rd Olympiad is scheduled to take place in July-August 2024.

The Arunachal Pradesh government inked a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NITI Aayog on the enhancement of the learning outcome of students across 3,000 plus government schools in the state.
The MoU is a three-year partnership (2022 – 25) focusing over two lakh children. The school education transformation project is under NITI Aayog’s Development Support Services for States (DSSS) initiative.

Lok Sabha passed Central Universities (Amendment), Bill 2022 for conversion of the National Rail and Transportation Institute (NRTI), a Deemed to be University into Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV), a Central University.
As per the Education Ministry, the Gati Shakti University will be a world-class, multi-disciplinary, and futuristic institution for the transport sectors.

In the recently released Fortune 500 list, State Bank of India is the only bank to be featured from India in 236^th rank. US retailer Walmart topped the 2022 list.
The Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has been named for the first time in the Fortune Global 500 list at rank 98. Reliance Industries jumped 51 places to rank 104 while oil and power PSUs including IOC, ONGC, BPCL were also featured in the list. The list has nine Indian companies – five state-owned, and four from the private sector.

The French government has announced that the Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite, the Knight of the Order of the Merit, is conferred on Kannan Sundaram, publisher of Kalachuvadu.
The award has announced for his contribution to the publishing collaboration between India and France.

In the U.S state of Kansas, the voters rejected the ‘Value Them Both Amendment’ that sought to remove legal protections for abortion from the state’s constitution.
This was the first time the American public electorally responded to the landmark decision of the Supreme Court, as a record 9 lakh Kansans turned out to vote.

The Uttar Pradesh government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Deloitte India, appointing it as a consultant for achieving the target of raising the state’s economy to USD 1 trillion.
This decision was based on the recommendation of a high-powered committee. Deloitte India is set to present a future action plan after conducting a sector-wise study.

A common ‘Rashtriya Puruskar’ Portal has been developed by the Government of India, to bring all the Awards of the various Ministries/Departments/Agencies of the Government of India under one digital platform.
This Portal aims to facilitate citizens to nominate individuals or organizations for various Awards instituted by the Government of India. Recently the Government invited nominations for ‘Vayoshreshtha Samman’ and ‘Padma’ awards.
