BHEL Secures Nigeria Refinery Export Order

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) signed a contract on 2 June 2026 with Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals Free Zone Enterprise in Nigeria for a refinery and petrochemical project. The order value is estimated at ₹2,000 crore to ₹2,500 crore, or about US240 million to US300 million.

The contract covers design, manufacturing, supply, erection supervision, and commissioning supervision of eight gas turbine generator packages. The packages are meant for a petroleum refinery and a polypropylene plant in the Dangote Industries Free Zone in Nigeria. The order was awarded through an international tender process. The contract excludes civil works and includes supply up to Mumbai Port and performance guarantee tests.
