PM Modi to Inaugurate Gujarat Highway Projects
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Surat in Gujarat on 5 June 2026, which coincides with World Environment Day. During the visit, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for National Highway projects worth ₹12,421 crore in South Gujarat.
Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway Sections
The inaugurated works include two sections of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway. The 36-km Kim–Ena section is Package VI, and the 27.5-km Gandeva–Ena section is Package VII. These two packages were developed at a combined cost of ₹7,689 crore.
National Highways Authority of India Projects
The foundation stone will be laid for four National Highways Authority of India projects valued at ₹4,732 crore. These projects include the four-laning of the Dhamasiya-Bitada/Movi section of NH-56, the four-laning of the Nasarpor-Malotha section of NH-56, a six-lane vehicular underpass near Reliance, and a vehicular underpass-cum-flyover at Kawas on the Surat-Hazira section of NH-53.
Hazira Port-Surat Connectivity Works
Foundation stones will also be laid for two projects worth about ₹149 crore on the Hazira Port-Surat section of NH-53. These works include a six-lane flyover and a vehicular underpass for freight movement.
