APEDA Boosts India’s Agri-Food Exports at World Food India 2025

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) played a very important role at World Food India (WFI) 2025. Held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, the event showcased India’s vast agri-food potential. APEDA’s participation brought into light innovation, global partnerships, and startup empowerment in the export sector.
APEDA’s Role and Presence at WFI 2025
APEDA acted as the Export Partner for the 4th edition of WFI. The authority hosted 142 exhibitors across 120 stalls. The pavilion displayed a wide range of products including GI-tagged items, Basmati rice, millets, organic produce, livestock products, and value-added foods. Thematic zones such as the GI Gallery and BHARTI Zone emphasised heritage products and startup innovation respectively.
Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet and Global Buyer Engagement
APEDA organised the Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet (RBSM) that attracted over 530 international buyers from 68 nations. Major supermarket chains like Walmart and LuLu participated. The event facilitated 4,654 curated B2B meetings. This platform enabled Indian exporters and startups to explore new markets and forge lasting business links.
Strategic MoU with LuLu Hypermarket
On 25 September 2025, APEDA signed a strategic Memorandum of About with LuLu Hypermarket LLC. This partnership under the BHARTI Initiative grants Indian agri-food startups shelf space in 252 LuLu outlets across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). It also includes product sampling, consumer engagement, and access to LuLu’s export network for global distribution.
BHARTI Initiative and Startup Empowerment
BHARTI (Bharat’s Hub for Agritech Resilience, Advancement and Incubation for Export Enablement) was a key show at WFI 2025. The dedicated stall and seminar focused on startup-driven innovation. Policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators discussed mentoring, branding, technology adoption, and market intelligence to support 100 agri-food ventures.
Impact on India’s Agri-Food Export Ecosystem
APEDA’s efforts at WFI 2025 demonstrated its commitment to building a future-ready export ecosystem. Combining large-scale buyer engagement, international collaborations, and startup innovation, APEDA positioned India as a reliable global food trade partner. The event marked a milestone in advancing sustainable and innovation-led growth in the agri-food sector.
