Andhra Pradesh Plans Global Horticulture Hub at Madanapalle
Andhra Pradesh laid the foundation stone for the ₹1 lakh-crore Global Horticulture Hub at Madanapalle in Annamayya district on 2 October 2026. The project is linked with the Rayalaseema region and covers horticulture development across 10 districts in Andhra Pradesh.
Global Horticulture Hub
The Global Horticulture Hub, also called Rayalaseema Rising, is planned as a multi-phase horticulture development project from August 2026 to July 2029. The project area includes Anantapur, Annamayya, Chittoor, Kurnool, Nandyal, Sri Sathya Sai, Tirupati, Kadapa, Prakasam, and Markapuram districts.
Investment and Implementation Structure
The total estimated investment for the project is ₹1 lakh crore. The TDP-led NDA government has committed ₹40,352 crore, while ₹60,000 crore is expected from private sector investment. The project will be executed through 201 clusters spread across 303 mandals and 5,869 villages.
Horticulture Profile of Rayalaseema
Rayalaseema is a drought-prone region in southern Andhra Pradesh. The project aims to expand horticulture cultivation by six lakh hectares and raise the total area to 14.41 lakh hectares. The planned output target is 435 lakh metric tonnes, compared with the existing 222 lakh metric tonnes.

Associated Institution
Along with the Global Horticulture Hub, the Indian School of Agriculture was also launched at Madanapalle. The institution will focus on technology, research, and innovation in agriculture and is being established with collaboration from Reliance Industries Limited.
