As per recent study conducted by Assocham-KPMG, India is the 5th largest producer of electronic waste (e-waste) in the world. Beside this, India has also emerged as the world’s 2nd largest mobile market with 1.03 billion subscribers. As per the study, about 100 crore mobile phones are in circulation, nearly 25 % end up in e-waste every year, thus, the rising levels of e-waste generation in India have been a matter of concern in recent years.
