Uttarakhand AI Impact Summit 2025 Held in Dehradun as Prelude to India–AI Impact Summit 2026

The Uttarakhand AI Impact Summit 2025 was held on 17 October 2025 at Hotel Ramada, Dehradun. Organised by the Government of Uttarakhand and India AI Mission under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the event acted as a prelude to the India–AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. The summit brought into light the role of artificial intelligence in encouraging sustainable development, inclusive growth, and digital transformation in Uttarakhand.

Significance of the Uttarakhand AI Impact Summit 2025

The summit positioned Uttarakhand as a leader in responsible AI adoption. It brought together policymakers, industry experts, startups, and academia to explore AI’s potential in governance, entrepreneurship, and innovation. The event aligned with the broader Digital Uttarakhand vision aimed at enhancing public service delivery and economic growth through technology.

India–AI Impact Summit 2026 Framework

The upcoming India–AI Impact Summit 2026 is the first global AI forum hosted in the Global South. It follows the vision of AI for All to promote social inclusion and environmental sustainability. The summit is guided by three Sutras—People, Planet, and Progress—which define AI’s role in serving humanity, protecting nature, and driving inclusive development. These principles are implemented through seven Chakras, thematic groups addressing key AI impact areas.

Role of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY)

MeitY plays a very important role in advancing India’s AI ecosystem. It supports initiatives that boost innovation, trust, and ethics in AI deployment. The ministry’s involvement ensures alignment with the national Digital Transformation agenda and IndiaAI Mission, reinforcing India’s position as a global AI leader.

Showcasing Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The summit featured presentations from AI startups backed by IIM Kashipur and STPI Dehradun. These startups demonstrated cutting-edge AI applications transforming sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, and governance. The event also outlined Uttarakhand’s IT Roadmap and AI Governance Vision, setting a clear path for sustainable growth driven by technology.
