Uttar Pradesh Launches Teacher Cashless Health Scheme Portal
The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a dedicated registration portal for the Chief Minister’s cashless medical scheme for teachers and their dependents. The portal, cmtcts.upsdc.gov.in, was rolled out on 6 June 2026 for basic education teachers under the education department.
Scheme Approval and Coverage
The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved the cashless medical treatment scheme on 29 January 2026 for teachers, non-teaching staff, and dependent family members in the Basic and Secondary Education Departments. The scheme covers about 11.95 lakh beneficiaries from basic education and 2.97 lakh beneficiaries from secondary education. By 10 March 2026, the scheme was extended to more than 2,00,000 teaching and non-teaching staff in the higher education sector. The scheme was first announced by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Teachers’ Day, 5 September 2025.
Benefits and Financial Outlay
Beneficiaries under the scheme are entitled to cashless medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh at government hospitals and empanelled private hospitals. The annual financial outlay for the Basic and Secondary Education Departments is about ₹448 crore, including ₹358.61 crore for basic education and ₹89.25 crore for secondary education. The higher education sector has an annual expenditure of about ₹50 crore under the scheme. The scheme follows the framework of Ayushman Bharat, with treatment rates linked to the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and National Health Authority norms.
Registration Process and Eligibility
Eligible teachers must complete Aadhaar e-KYC on the portal before downloading the Chief Minister’s teacher cashless medical card. Persons already covered under other central or state government health schemes are not eligible for duplicate benefits under this scheme.
