Urdu Compilation of Modi’s Red Fort Speeches Released

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has released an Urdu book compiling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day speeches delivered from the Red Fort between 2014 and 2025. Titled “Khutbat-e-Modi: Lal Qila Ki Faseel Se”, the publication aims to widen access to key national addresses for Urdu readers and strengthen linguistic inclusion in public communication.

The volume has been brought out by the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), a national institution under the Ministry of Education mandated to promote, preserve and propagate Urdu across India. Officials said the compilation is intended to help Urdu-knowing audiences engage directly with the Prime Minister’s yearly messaging on governance priorities and national goals, without relying on secondary summaries.

Pradhan Highlights Inclusion and Public Engagement

At the release, Pradhan described the Urdu edition as a meaningful step towards linguistic inclusion. He said the Red Fort speeches repeatedly underline themes such as Antyodaya, welfare of the poor, Swachh Bharat, national unity and the aspirations of 140 crore Indians, framing them as part of the government’s vision for a “New India”. He added that such publications can serve as a bridge between citizens and policymaking by enabling wider public engagement and more informed discussion.

NCPUL Urged to Expand Urdu Publications on Heritage

Pradhan expressed hope that the book would reach libraries across the country and be used by students, scholars and general readers to support broader dialogue on the idea of Viksit Bharat. He also called on NCPUL to proactively publish more material in Urdu on India’s heritage, culture, lifestyle and knowledge traditions, positioning language access as an instrument of cultural continuity and public participation.
