Tapovan-Vishnugad hydropower project

520 MW Tapovan-Vishnugad hydropower project is being undertaken by the state-run NTPC on Dhauliganga river in Uttarakhand. A recent flash flood in Rishiganga river caused by the glacier burst have led to the loss of 60% of the completed construction work. Before this incident, around 70% of the overall project was completed. This project previously suffered damages in 2013 due to the glacier burst in Reni village.
