Sheetal Devi Wins Gold at World Archery Para Series

India ended its campaign at the World Archery Para Series 2026 Stage 3 with 15 medals at the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on 9 September 2026. The medal tally included four gold, three silver, and eight bronze medals.

World Archery Para Series

The World Archery Para Series is an international para-archery competition organised under World Archery. The 2026 Stage 3 event in Ahmedabad was the first World Archery Para Series tournament hosted by India. The competition ran from 5 September to 9 September 2026.

Sheetal Devi’s Individual Gold

Sheetal Devi, aged 19 years, won her first individual title on the World Archery Para Series circuit in the women’s compound event. She defeated Kazakhstan’s Aizada Seidan 10-9 in a shoot-off after the final ended 144-144. In the qualification round, she scored 698 points, which improved her own Asian record.

Team and Mixed Team Results

Bhawna and Harvinder Singh won gold in the recurve mixed team event. They defeated China’s Liang Qiurong and Xia Lei 6-0 in the final. Sheetal Devi and Toman Kumar won bronze in the compound mixed team event with a 157-145 win over Iraq’s Sara Al-Hamid and Abbas Kadhim. Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar also set a mixed team world record of 1,400 points during the qualification stage.

Other Indian Medal Winners

Toman Kumar won bronze in the men’s individual compound event after defeating Iraq’s Abbas Kadhim 143-138. Bhawna won bronze in the women’s individual recurve event. India’s overall medal count at the event included four gold medals across individual and team categories.
