Rajasthan CM Launches Rs 491-Cr Projects in Rajsamand

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 347 development projects worth over Rs 491 crore in Rajsamand district on 2 August 2026. The event was held at Bhikshu Nilayam in Rajsamand and covered works in roads, water supply, electricity, industry, employment, health, and urban infrastructure.

Project Breakdown in Rajsamand

Of the 347 projects, 266 works costing over Rs 369 crore were inaugurated. Foundation stones were laid for 81 projects with a total cost of over Rs 122 crore. The projects included road construction, urban infrastructure in the Rajsamand municipal council area, rural water supply schemes, a community health centre building, and a milk processing unit in Nathdwara.

Beneficiary-Oriented Welfare Measures

During the function, motorised tricycles were distributed to specially-abled persons. Benefit cheques under various schemes, loan cheques to women self-help groups under Rajeevika, and compassionate appointment letters to COVID-19 orphans were also distributed. Rajeevika is the Rajasthan Rural Livelihoods Development Council, which works with women self-help groups in the state.

State Development and Welfare Context

The projects were linked to the state’s development framework of Viksit Bharat and Viksit Rajasthan-2047. The stated beneficiary groups included farmers, women, labourers, and youth. The sectors covered by the projects included drinking water, power supply, roads, industry, and employment generation.

The Chief Minister referred to an increase in annual assistance under Kisan Samman Nidhi from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000. He also mentioned electricity subsidies exceeding Rs 61,000 crore and action against exam irregularities, including 569 arrests and 410 examinations conducted without leaks in the past two-and-a-half years.
