Railways Inaugurates CHIRAG Centre for HR Excellence

The Centre for HR Information Systems, Research and Analytics in Governance (CHIRAG) is a Centre of Excellence of Indian Railways. It was inaugurated on 25 May 2026 at the SCR Grounds near the Zonal Railway Training Institute in Moula-Ali, Hyderabad.

CHIRAG and Indian Railways HR Systems

CHIRAG is linked to human resource management training, research, and digital transformation in Indian Railways. The centre is designed to support role-based, certified Human Resource Management System training for employees across cadres.

Training and Capacity Building Functions

The centre will develop an HRMS-MITRA master trainer cadre for deployment at the Zonal Railway Training Institute. It will also provide training support through computer laboratories and an iGOT recording studio for wider dissemination of training modules.

Technology and Policy Applications

CHIRAG will function as a think tank for HR policy formulation and inter-system integration. It will use Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and predictive analytics for HR decision-making in Indian Railways.

Infrastructure at the Centre

The facility includes state-of-the-art computer laboratories for digital training. The foundation stone for a new building at the CHIRAG centre was also laid during the inauguration.
