The Rumble in the Jungle was a historic boxing event in Kinshasa, Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo), on October 30, 1974. It pitted the undefeated world heavyweight champion George Foreman against challenger Muhammad Ali, the former heavyweight champion. Ali won by knockout, putting Foreman down just before the end of the eighth round. It has been called “arguably the greatest sporting event of the 20th century”. It was a major upset victory, with Ali coming in as a 4–1 underdog against the unbeaten, heavy-hitting Foreman. The fight is famous for Ali’s introduction of the rope-a-dope tactic.

Jatindra Charan Guha, popularly known by his ring name Gobar Guha, was a world-famous Indian wrestler and practitioner of Pehlwani. He was the first Asian to win the World Light Heavyweight Championship in the United States in 1921. When he disposed of the then World Light Heavyweight Champion and catch wrestler Ad Santel on 30 August 1921 at the Coliseum in San Francisco, he became the first Asian to win a World Professional Wrestling Championship in the United States.

Truman Hugh Cassidy, better known as Hugh Cassidy, is a former powerlifter who competed in powerlifting just prior to the formation of the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF). In 1971, he became U.S. National Powerlifting Champion as well as World Powerlifting Champion at the inaugural Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) World Championships, defeating the young soon-to-be all-time greats Jim Williams and John Kuc in the super heavyweight division.

James Talbot Williams was a record-holding professional competitive powerlifter from the United States of America. He competed in powerlifting just prior to the formation of the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF). During the early 1970s, he set numerous bench press national and world records in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU).

Benedikt Magnússon is an Icelandic strongman and powerlifter. He holds the raw deadlift world record with a lift of 460.4 kg (1,015 lb) in 2011. He also set the world record for the heaviest strongman deadlift of 461 kg (1,016 lb) in 2014, which stood until Eddie Hall lifted 462 kg (1,019 lb) the next year.

Lamar Gant is an American world record-holding powerlifter. He competed with idiopathic scoliosis. He was inducted into the International Powerlifting Federation Hall of Fame in 1980. In 1985, he became the first person in human history to deadlift five times his own body weight – lifting 661 pounds (300 kg) at a bodyweight of 132 pounds (60 kg).

Archery GB is the national governing body for archery in the United Kingdom. It was established in 2006 and is responsible for promoting the sport, organizing competitions, and developing talent. The UK has a rich archery history, with the sport being featured in the Olympics since 1900. Notably, British archer Simon Terry won a gold medal in the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
