National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is set to launch UPI Lite, which would enable small value transactions in an offline mode.
The upper limit of an UPI Lite payment transaction will be Rs 200. The total limit of UPI Lite balance for an on-device wallet will be Rs 2,000 at any point of time.

Union Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Giriraj Singh released the Disaster Management Plan of Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
Its aim is to develop disaster resilience at the grassroots level among the Panchayats and to align the disaster management measures in rural areas to that of the National Disaster Management Authority.

The Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) and Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) signed an agreement to build the first indigenous dredger.
The vessel will cost around Rs 920 crore. This is the largest and technologically advanced dredger to have even been built in India. This will further help the local manufacturing of dredgers.

Delegates from 33 companies from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia have arrived in Srinagar for the “Gulf Business Summit”.
Rs 3,000 crores Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed earlier this year. The Delegates will discuss exploring investment opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir in different sectors. Around 1,999 acres land bank has already been opened for investments in Kashmir.

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development has sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 4,013 crore to Odisha, the highest in the country.
The assistance has been sanctioned for critical rural infrastructure development under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) during 2021-22.

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory confirmed there are now 5,000 known planets beyond our solar system.
These exoplanets include rocky structures approximately the size of Earth, gas giants larger than Jupiter and ‘mini-Neptunes. This is seen as a milestone for astronomy and the search for extra-terrestrial life.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel presented a Budget of Rs 1,04,000 crore for 2022-23, 7% more than the previous year
He announced to restore Old pension scheme for state government employees, and double the annual MLA local area development fund. A provision of Rs 6,000 crore for Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana and increase in remuneration from Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,000 per annum under Rajiv Gandhi Bhoomiheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana were also announced.

The Chief of the United Nations announced a project, along with Geneva-based World Meteorological Organization.
It aims to put every person on Earth in range of early weather-warning systems within five years. It aims to make the alert systems, which are already used by many rich countries available to the developing countries.

On 24 March, the International Day for the Right to the Truth Concerning Gross Human Rights Violations and for the Dignity of Victims is observed.
The Day was proclaimed in 2010 by the United Nations General Assembly. It pays tribute to Monsignor Óscar Arnulfo Romero, who fought against violations of human rights in El Salvador, who was murdered on 24 March 1980.

Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, announced their collaboration with the Indo-German Development Cooperation Project ‘Economic Empowerment of Women Entrepreneurs and Start-ups by Women (Her&Now)’.
Under the partnership between AIM and Her&Now, ‘WINcubate Training Programme’ will be provided to AIM Incubators and Innovation Centres to help them adopt a gender-focused approach.
