Maharashtra Government, during the Budget presentation announced that the country’s first medical city will be set up in Pune.
Named ‘Indrayani Medicity’, it aims to provide medical education and research facilities, as well as all categories of specialty treatment under one roof.

The state government of Maharashtra has announced a five-pronged plan named “Panchasutri”, covering agriculture, health, human resources, transport and industry.
The programme has an outlay of Rs. 1.15 lakh crore and Rs 4 lakh crore will be provided for this programme in the next three years, according to the state Budget, 2022-23.

‘Credit guarantee scheme for subordinate debt (CGSSD)’ is implemented by the Ministry of MSME. The Ministry has extended the CGSSD by one more year till March 31, 2023.
The Government created ‘Distressed Assets Fund- – Subordinate Debt for Stressed MSMEs’ in May 2020. CGSSD was launched to provide credit facility through lending institutions to the promoters of stressed MSMEs. The scheme is for SMA-2 and NPA accounts which are eligible for restructuring.

Article 25 provides the fundamental right of ‘Freedom of conscience and free profession, practice and propagation of religion’ to all persons.
The High Court of Karnataka dismissed petitions filed by a group of Muslim girls seeking permission to wear hijab in classrooms. The government can interfere on essential religious practices on three grounds under Article 25(1): public order, morality or health.

As per the Registrar General of India’s Special Bulletin, India’s Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) has dropped by 10 points, from 113 in 2016-18 to 103 in 2017-19.
The ratio witnessed an 8.8 % decline. MMR has gradually decreased in the country, falling from 130 in 2014-2016 to 122 in 2015-17, 113 in 2016-18, and 103 in 2017-19.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Bhagwant Mann recently assumed office as the 18th chief minister of Punjab, at the state civil secretariat in Chandigarh.
He took oath as the 18th chief minister of Punjab at Kahtar Kalan, the ancestral village of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh in Nawanshahr.

A “Green Triangle” named after Mahatma Gandhi was jointly inaugurated in Madagascar’s capital Antananarivo, to commemorate India’s 75th year of independence.
The ‘Greening the Area’ meets the objective of the Urban Municipality of Antananarivo to create the maximum green space in the capital city of Madagascar.

The fabric of ‘Dhaka muslin’ is known for its fine and delicate thread. The textile has earlier brought trade to Bangladesh, but the industry collapsed after the conquest of the Bengal delta by the East India Company.
Researchers are now trying to revive this forgotten fabric. Phuti carpus cotton, which is used to produce Dhaka muslin, is being grown at the Bangladesh Cotton Development Farm.

The people of West Bengal celebrate the festival of colours, predominantly known as Dol Utsav in the state.
This cultural festival marks the onset of spring season. In Eastern parts of the India, the festival of spring is celebrated as Dol Utsav, Dol Jatra, Dol Purnima and Basanta Utsav.

Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida held talks in New Delhi during the India-Japan Annual Summit 2022.
After the Meet, the Indian Prime Minister announced that Japan is set to invest 5 trillion yen or Rs 3.2 lakh crore in India over next 5 years. This is Japan PM’s first visit to India as the head of the Japanese government.
