‘World Day Against Trafficking in Persons’ is observed every year on 30 July. This year the theme of the event is “Use and abuse of technology”.
The Blue Heart Campaign was also launched where the blue heart represents the sadness of those who are trafficked, as well as the cold-heartedness of those who buy and sell fellow human beings.

CoWIN is being repurposed for the universal immunisation program (UIP), at present.
CoWIN head and CEO of the National Health Authority Dr. R.S. Sharma announced that the app will help in discovery of vaccination centres and reminders for subsequent vaccinations for preventable diseases for mothers and the newly born.

Australia is the host of ‘Pitch Black’, an international Air Combat Exercise. India is set to participate in the 17-Nation Exercise.
It includes the participation of around 100 aircraft and 2,500 military personnel from 17 countries. Other participants include Australia, Canada, India, France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, the UAE, the UK and the US.

The Union Cabinet has cleared the Competition (Amendment) Bill, 2022, and it will be tabled in ongoing Monsoon session of Parliament. The bill aims to bring in more flexibility and accountability to the Competition Commission of India (CCI).
CCI is a regulatory authority tasked with checking and eliminating business practices that may harm competition. The body consists of a chairperson and 6 members appointed by the central government.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently launched the Mission Bhumiputra Portal. The aim of this portal is to provide digitalized caste certificates to the students within a month.
The state government also launched Mission Basundhara in October 2021 with the aim of disposal of land-related problems.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar recently launched the ‘Chief Minister Equal Education Relief, Assistance and Grant (Cheerag)’ scheme.
It aims to provide ‘free education’ to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) students of government schools in budget private schools. Under the scheme, government school students whose parents have an annual verified income of less than Rs 1.8 lakh can enroll in private schools.

The Ministry of MSME launched the Udyam Registration Portal in 2020, after the adoption of the revised definition of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Since then, as many as 1 crore MSMEs have registered on the Udyam portal on a voluntary basis. The MSMEs have also declared that they employ 7.6 crore people, of which 1.7 crore are women. The Digi Locker facility for Udyam Registration was also launched.

Norway’s Casper Ruud defeated Italy’s Matteo Berrettini in the final of the Swiss Open in Gstaad and clinched the title.
This is the ninth title of the 23-year-old player’s career. He recently became the highest-ranked Norwegian tennis player in history, after attaining his career-high singles ranking of world No. 5.

NESTS and CBSE in collaboration with TATA trusts and other stake-holders launched Experiential Learning for 21st Century Programme for Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) Principals and Teachers virtually.

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is set to launch a Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. It is the smallest and lightest commercial rocket built by ISRO
The rocket will also carry the Indian tricolour, which will be unfurled in space to mark the 75th year of independence. The SSLV will carry EOS-02, an indigenously developed earth observation satellite, and Cubesat AzaadiSAT, which was developed by 750 school girls across 75 schools in rural India. The satellite will carry a special space song along with the national anthem.
