NLDSL-NICDC Logistics Data Bank (LDB Project) has achieved a milestone of handling 50 million EXIM containers.
Union Commerce and Industry Minister lauded the NICDC Logistics Data Services for the achievement. NICDC stands for National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation. LDB handles 100% per cent of India’s EXIM container volume. It uses RFID technology through Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data and Cloud-based solution for real-time tracking of EXIM container movement.

Notes:
The Nyaya Mitra (NM) was launched in 2017, to facilitate fast-track disposal of 10-15 years old pending cases in High Courts and Subordinate Courts.
The Union Law Minister recently provided information on state-wise disposal under the programme.  The Nyaya Mitras have so far assisted the Courts in disposal of 3495 old cases. 80 Nyaya Mitras will be engaged across the country from 2021-2026.

India and Vietnam have commenced the 3rd edition of Vietnam-India bilateral army exercise ‘Ex VINBAX 2022’.
The 20 day military exercise is scheduled to be conducted at Chandimandir in Haryana. The theme of the exercise is deployment of an Engineer Company and a Medical Team as part of United Nations Contingent for Peacekeeping Operations.

Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav inaugurated India’s largest online herbarium database, the ‘Indian Virtual Herbarium’ web portal.
The portal has been developed by the Botanical Survey of India under the framework of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and ‘Digital India’. Botanical Survey of India is a subordinate office under the Environment Ministry.

Norway’s Casper Ruud defeated Italy’s Matteo Berrettini in the final of the Swiss Open in Gstaad and clinched the title.
This is the ninth title of the 23-year-old player’s career. He recently became the highest-ranked Norwegian tennis player in history, after attaining his career-high singles ranking of world No. 5.

The telecom operator Vodafone Idea Ltd. (VIL) launched ‘Ready for Next program’ through its Vi Business arm.
The program aims to help 2.5 lakh MSMEs in their journey of digital transformation. MSME sector makes 30 per cent contribution in the GDP of India and has an employment basket of 110 million Indians.

India’s table tennis team retained its men’s team championship title with a win over Singapore in the final match in the Commonwealth Games 2022.
The team includes Harmeet Desai Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Sharat Kamal. The Indian mixed badminton team won a Silver Medal in the Games.

Lok Sabha passed Central Universities (Amendment), Bill 2022 for conversion of the National Rail and Transportation Institute (NRTI), a Deemed to be University into Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV), a Central University.
As per the Education Ministry, the Gati Shakti University will be a world-class, multi-disciplinary, and futuristic institution for the transport sectors.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) have approved the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) of sugarcane for sugar marketing year 2022-23 (October-September).
The decision of rising FRP to Rs 305 per quintal, will benefit around 50 million sugarcane farmers and their dependents, as well as about 500,000 workers employed in sugar mills and related activities.

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Army test-fired the indigenously developed Laser-Guided Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGM).
It was launched from Main Battle Tank (MBT) Arjun at KK Ranges with support of Armoured Corps Centre and School in Maharashtra.  The all-indigenous Laser Guided ATGM employs a High Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT) warhead.
