Five women officers of the Indian Naval Air Squadron 314 based at Porbandar in Gujarat created history by completing the first all-women independent maritime reconnaissance and surveillance mission over the north Arabian Sea onboard a Dornier 228 aircraft.
The aircraft was captained by Mission Commander Lt Commander Aanchal Sharma, who had pilots  Lt Shivangi and Lt Apurva Gite  and tactical and sensor officers in her team.

INS Sumedha is an indigenously built Naval Offshore Patrol Vessel and is is part of the Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet based at Visakhapatnam.
As part of the Indian Navy’s Long Range Deployment in the South Eastern Indian Ocean, INS Sumedha, is on a visit to Port Tanjung Benoa, Bali, en route to Perth, Australia, to coincide with India’s Independence Day. The ship undertook a Maritime Partnership Exercise the vessel of the Indonesian Navy.

China successfully launched a pilot reusable spacecraft with its Long March-2F carrier rocket.
As per the country’s media, the test spacecraft will operate in orbit for a period of time before returning to its intended landing site in China.

‘Peninsular Rock Agama’ (Psammophilus dorsalis) is a type of garden lizard which has a strong presence in southern India.
A study carried out by researchers from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru shows that habitat loss and other features of urbanisation have affected the presence of the animal in urban centres. The presence of these ectotherms indicates warmer patches in the city as well as presence of insects.

The UK Ministry of Defence has alarmed about the possible use of PFM-1 series ‘Butterfly Mines’ by the Russian military, in the ongoing war in Ukraine.
These anti-personnel mines have two plastic wings to help it drift to the ground. They contain about 40 grams of explosives.

Kerala Higher Education Ministry formally inaugurated the Freedom Wall mural art project to mark the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence.
The project is jointly organised in government colleges across the state by the Directorate of Collegiate Education and the State National Service Scheme (NSS) unit. The mural stretch, which will cover an area of 20,000 ft, is said to be the largest collection of murals painted in the country.

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has proposed a 3-men commission for global peace. It includes Pope Francis, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Mexican President is set to submit a written proposal to the UN to create the commission to promote a world truce for a period of five years. The Mexican President has also invited China, Russia, and the US to seek peace.

Singapore declared its 200-year-old green and open space Padang, as its 75th national monument, as the city-state celebrates its 57th National Day.
Padang is the site from where Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose gave his ‘Delhi Chalo’ slogan in 1943. Padang is also the first green and open space on Singapore’s list of national monuments, the highest form of recognition for a site’s significance.

Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech has submitted data from Phase 3 clinical trials of BBV154, its intranasal Covid vaccine candidate, to the drug regulator.
It has sought approval both as a primary two-dose vaccine, and a heterologous booster shot. A heterologous booster means the third or subsequent dose of the vaccine is different from its primary dose.

The Government of India announced the National Education Policy (NEP) in 2020, which recommends quality improvement through the development of a National Curriculum Framework (NCF).
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan urged citizens to participate in the Citizen Survey for National Curriculum Framework for developing a new curriculum.
