Notes:
The goods and services tax (GST) e-invoicing will be mandatory for firms with a turnover of over Rs 10 crore from October 1, as per the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs.
The current threshold is Rs 20 crores. E-invoicing for business-to-business (B2B) transactions started with a threshold of turnover of over Rs 500 crore, from October 1, 2020. It was gradually reduced.

The Uttar Pradesh government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Deloitte India, appointing it as a consultant for achieving the target of raising the state’s economy to USD 1 trillion.
This decision was based on the recommendation of a high-powered committee. Deloitte India is set to present a future action plan after conducting a sector-wise study.

Ministry of Culture and Google launched an initiative, ‘India ki Udaan’ to celebrate the spirit of India and its achievements in past 75 years.
This celebration started in New Delhi. This joint venture was organised under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Google Arts and Culture unveiled a exhibit created to honour the achievers of India in the last 75 years.

The Uttarakhand tourism department has announced to develop a ‘Modi circuit’ at the Corbett Tiger Reserve.
It aims to cover the places visited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi while shooting for the ‘Man vs Wild’ television programme in 2019.

The Uzbekistan team won the gold medal while Armenia and India-2 team won the silver and bronze respectively in the Open section of the 44th Chess Olympiad held in Chennai, the International Chess Federation (FIDE) said.
In the women’s section, Ukraine won the gold, Georgia the silver, while the top seed India-1 won the bronze.

American tennis legend Serena Williams has announced that she will retire from professional tennis at the age of 40.
Serena Williams won her first major title at the 1999 US Open, when she was 17. Since then, she won 23 Grand Slam singles titles, the most of any woman in the Open Era. She won her last Slam title at the 2017 Australian Open when she was eight weeks’ pregnant. Serena has 73 WTA titles overall and 14 major doubles titles with sister Venus Williams.

As per a recent Parliament reply, scheduled commercial banks have written off loans worth about Rs 10 lakh crore in the last five financial years.
According to a reply by the Finance Ministry, during 2021-22, the write-off amount came down to Rs 1.57 lakh crore compared to Rs 2.02 lakh crore in 2020-21. The highest in five years was recorded in 2018-19 at Rs 2.36 Lakh crore.

The UK Ministry of Defence has alarmed about the possible use of PFM-1 series ‘Butterfly Mines’ by the Russian military, in the ongoing war in Ukraine.
These anti-personnel mines have two plastic wings to help it drift to the ground. They contain about 40 grams of explosives.

State of Bank of India has become the country’s first bank to launch a policy to fund industry of lab-grown diamonds.
India’s largest private lender released operational guidelines for financing man-made diamond houses including the standard prudential practices. Synthetic diamonds generally cost 30-40 per cent less than the natural diamonds.

Microsoft and the Indian government are set to collaborate for a programme to train 2.5 million civil servants in using Microsoft’s suite of digital tools.
The partnership between Microsoft, the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), and the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) aims to help civil servants in helping the underprivileged.
