The State University Research Excellence (SERB-SURE) aims to promote collaboration for high-end research at state and private universities and colleges.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched three startup regional hubs in Madurai, Tirunelveli and Erode, to promote innovation policy to tier-II and tier-III regions.
He also launched the StartupTN accelerator initiative to support growth stage startups. Initiatives related to community circle and incubator maturity model framework were also launched. Rs 5 lakh was provided to 31 startups each across the State, as a part of the of Tamil Nadu Startup Seed Grant Fund (TANSEED).

The Odisha Investors Meet was jointly organised by the Odisha Government and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) in Dubai.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the event, which aims to strengthen Odisha’s economic ties with the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and to attract investors from the region.

Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana recommended to the government the name of Justice Uday Umesh Lalit as his successor and the 49th Chief Justice of India.
The Chief Justice is retiring on August 26, 2022. As per the details, Justice Lalit will retire on November 8 and Justice DY Chandrachud will be appointed as the 50th Chief Justice of India after him.

China fired ballistic missiles and deployed fighter jets and warships as it began its largest-ever military exercises around Taiwan, a show of force
This was commenced as retaliation to the visit of the US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s to the island. Pelosi was the highest-profile US official to visit Taiwan in years. The Taiwanese cabinet said the drills would disrupt 18 international routes passing through its flight information region.

Singapore co-chairs the annual Asean-India foreign ministers’ meeting in Phnom Penh, Capital of Cambodia. India’s External affairs minister S Jaishankar attended the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)- India Foreign Minister’s meeting.

Guindy National Park is located in Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is one of the very few national parks situated inside a city.
A first-of its kind urban animal rescue centre has been set up recently in the national park by the Tamil Nadu Forest Department to help the injured and rescued wildlife.

The four-day International Dairy Federation World Dairy Summit (IDF WDS 2022), is scheduled to be held in New Delhi from September 12.
India is the world’s largest milk producer with largest cattle population while it lags behind in yield. From the summit, India will learn lessons to improve its per animal milk productivity from advanced nations.

In the U.S state of Kansas, the voters rejected the ‘Value Them Both Amendment’ that sought to remove legal protections for abortion from the state’s constitution.
This was the first time the American public electorally responded to the landmark decision of the Supreme Court, as a record 9 lakh Kansans turned out to vote.

The state government of Arunachal Pradesh has given the name of ‘Donyi Polo Airport’ to its third airport, which is under construction in Itanagar.
It is the only airport in the capital city and third in the state after Pasighat and Tezu airports. In the state’s tribal language, Donyi means Sun and Polo means Moon.
