RailTel, a Mini Ratna CPSU of Ministry of Railways and CloudExtel, a Network as a Service (NaaS) provider have partnered to launch India’s first shared Radio Access Network (RAN) solution. The pilot was carried out in Mumbai Central railway station.The solution has been launched for congested locations like traffic junctions, airports, and railway stations.

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the Central TB Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare have now selected 75 tribal districts, for focused interventions to eradicate Tuberculosis.
This decision has been taken after door-to-door TB screening of over 68,000 villages in tribal districts held over the past six months.

The embalmed heart of Portuguese monarch Dom Pedro I, arrived from Portugal and will be put on display as part of independence anniversary celebrations in Brazil.
The Portuguese government has loaned the heart to Brazil for three weeks for the bicentennial celebration. The monarch declared Brazilian independence from Portugal 200 years ago. Also called as the ‘the Liberator’, he was the founder and first ruler of the Empire of Brazil.

US Aerospace major Boeing manufactures the F/A-18 Super Hornet. Recently the Indian Navy has shortlisted F/A-18 Super Hornet and Rafale M aircraft produced by the French aerospace major Dassault Aviation for the procurement.
Boeing has pitched that the Super Hornets are the best platform to address the Indian Navy’s requirement of deck-based jets for aircraft carrier INS Vikrant.

Tokyo Olympics Gold medallist Neeraj Chopra has won the javelin throw competition at the Lausanne Diamond League. With the best throw of 89.08 metre, Neeraj became the first Indian to clinch the prestigious Diamond League Meet title. The League is an annual series of elite track and field athletic competitions.
Neeraj has been qualified for the Diamond League Finals at Switzerland and also qualified for the 2023 World Championships.

Red Bull’s Dutch driver and reigning Formula One world champion Max Verstappen won the Belgian Grand Prix.
He won the race despite starting the race from 14th place on the grid. Mexican racing driver Sergio Perez finished second while Carlos Sainz Jr, Spanish motorsports racing driver finished third.

Union Minister for Earth Sciences, Dr. Jitendra Singh unveiled a dedicated website to give further boost to the ongoing Coastal Clean-Up campaign.
The awareness campaign ‘Swachh Sagar, Surakshit Sagar’ will culminate on ‘International Coastal Clean-up Day’. Dr. Singh also launched the campaign Logo-Vasuki, as a part of ongoing pan-India Coastal Clean-Up campaign.

India’s Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has issued a notification on standardising the process for issuance of international driving permit (IDP).
Through this amendment, the format, size, colour etc. for IDP has been standardized for issuance across India. Under the Convention on International Road Traffic of 1949 (Geneva Convention), India is required to issue the permit for acceptance in other countries.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched ‘CM Udyman Khiladi Unnayan Yojana’, on the occasion of National Sports Day.
Under the scheme, 1950 boys and 1950 girls will be given sports scholarships. Chief Minister Sports Development Fund will be established to give financial benefits while Malchang game will also be included in the game policy.

India’s air carrier IndiGo has joined a sustainable initiative spearheaded by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
The airline has become a signatory to the Clear Skies for Tomorrow, India Coalition campaign. The ‘Clean Skies for Tomorrow’ launched in 2019, provides a mechanism for top executives and public leaders, for transition to sustainable aviation fuels.
