Project BRAHMANK Marks 16th Raising Day
Project BRAHMANK is a Border Roads Organisation project in Arunachal Pradesh that was formally commissioned in December 2011. It completed 16 years of Raising Day on 29 June 2026 at Ranaghat in Arunachal Pradesh.
Project Profile
Project BRAHMANK is responsible for the development and maintenance of 811 km of roads and about 86 bridges. Its work area covers the Siang, East Siang, West Siang, Upper Siang and Shi-Yomi districts of Arunachal Pradesh, along with parts of Dhemaji district in Assam.
Road and Bridge Works
During FY 2025-26, the project completed 13 bridges with a combined span of 390 metres across the Siang and Siyom Valleys. In the same financial year, 61 km of roads were blacktopped to National Highway Double Lane standards. The project has also developed helipads for connectivity in remote areas. These facilities are part of the Border Roads Organisation’s road and air-access infrastructure in border regions.
Engineering Features in the Region
Among the notable structures linked with the project are a 100-metre steel arch bridge over Siyom Nallah and a 165-metre prestressed concrete bridge over Simang Nallah on the Along–Yingkiong Road. Both structures are located in Arunachal Pradesh and are part of strategic road connectivity works in difficult terrain.
