PM Modi Receives Slovakia’s Order of the White Double Cross

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received Slovakia’s highest state decoration, the Order of the White Double Cross, First Class, in Bratislava on 15 June 2026. The award was presented by the President of Slovakia, Peter Pellegrini, during a special ceremony. It became the 33rd international honour conferred on Narendra Modi by a foreign country.

Order of the White Double Cross

The Order of the White Double Cross is Slovakia’s highest civilian and military state decoration. Slovakia awards it to foreign citizens for exceptional contributions to friendly relations and to the foreign policy interests of Slovakia. The First Class grade is the highest level of the order.

India-Slovakia Bilateral Relations

India and Slovakia elevated their ties to a comprehensive partnership during PM Modi’s visit. The two sides finalised 11 agreements in areas such as migration, digital technology, and defence. The visit was the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since Slovak independence.
