The Haryana government has launched the “Pandit Lakhmi Chand Kalakar Samajik Samman Yojana.” This initiative aims to support senior artists and art scholars financially. The scheme provides a monthly honorarium to eligible individuals who have contributed to the arts. It reflects the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting cultural heritage.

Scheme Details

The scheme offers a monthly honorarium of ₹10,000. It targets senior artists who have dedicated at least 20 years to their art. Eligible fields include singing, acting, dance, drama, and visual arts. The initiative seeks to uplift the financial and socio-economic conditions of these artists.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be residents of Haryana aged 60 or above. They should have a minimum of 20 years of contribution to the arts. The Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) will verify age and income details. An annual income of up to ₹1.80 lakh qualifies for the full honorarium. Those earning between ₹1.80 lakh and ₹3 lakh will receive ₹7,000 monthly.

Evaluation and Selection

A special committee will evaluate applications based on current guidelines. Both financial conditions and artistic contributions will be considered. The final list of beneficiaries will be prepared based on merit. This ensures that deserving artists receive the support they need.
