North Bengal Command Area Project

North Bengal Command Area Project

The North Bengal Command Area Project is a poll promise in West Bengal to connect the rivers of South Bengal to the north Bengal region. This 2,000 crore INR proposed project seeks to take water from the 3 rivers- Jalangi, Bhairab and Sialmari to the North Bengal region. These 3 rivers are part of the Ganga basin but fall on its right bank which means it flows on the side opposite to which North Bengal is located.
