NITI Aayog Releases Caregiving Report for Viksit Bharat@2047

NITI Aayog released the report Reimagining Care: Strategies for Empowering Caregivers in Viksit Bharat@2047 on 5 August 2026 at NITI Aayog. The report sets out a framework for an organised, professional, accessible, and future-ready care system in India.

Caregiving as a Professional Sector

The report treats caregiving as a skilled and dignified profession in India. It covers care services for older persons, family caregivers, community caregivers, and paid caregivers.

National Caregiving Council and Standards
