Ministry of Coal to Launch “Koyla Shakti” Smart Analytics Dashboard

In a major stride towards digital governance and operational transparency, the Ministry of Coal is set to unveil “Koyla Shakti” — a Smart Coal Analytics Dashboard — on October 29, 2025, at The Oberoi Hotel, New Delhi. The event will be graced by Union Minister of Coal and Mines, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, as the Chief Guest. The initiative represents a significant advancement under the Government’s Digital India mission and aims to transform coal sector management through data integration and real-time analytics.

A Unified Platform for Coal Sector Operations

Developed by the Ministry of Coal, Koyla Shakti will function as a centralised digital platform for real-time monitoring of coal production, dispatch, logistics and supply. It will integrate data from multiple sources, including coal-producing companies, power utilities, state mining departments, and central ministries such as Railways, Power, Finance and Ports. By unifying diverse datasets, the dashboard will enhance transparency, facilitate timely reporting, and improve coordination across the coal value chain.

Key Features and Strategic Objectives

The primary objective of Koyla Shakti is to promote efficiency and accountability in the coal ecosystem. The platform’s key features include real-time tracking of production and logistics, data-driven decision-making tools, incident alerts, and standardized performance metrics. It also supports advanced analytics for demand forecasting and policy formulation. The system is designed for scalability, allowing future integration with new digital systems and datasets as India’s coal infrastructure continues to evolve.

Driving Transparency and Efficiency Through Technology

Koyla Shakti will serve as a comprehensive decision-support system for policymakers and industry leaders. It will minimise manual interventions, ensure uniform data reporting, and enable faster incident resolution. The platform will also assist in optimizing coal movement and logistics, reducing delays and improving supply reliability for industries dependent on coal. This digital ecosystem marks a significant milestone in India’s ongoing efforts to modernise resource governance through smart technologies.
