Micro Irrigation Fund

Micro Irrigation Fund

The ministry of agriculture and farmers welfare had created a micro irrigation fund (MIF) under NABARD in 2018-19 to promote micro-irrigation. It was created with a corpus of 5,000 crore INR to aid the states in incentivising the adoption of micro-irrigation practice by the farmers under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana. The centre provides 3% interest subvention on loans under MIF to the states. The recent budget has proposed the doubling of the initial corpus with another 5,000 crore INR.
