India reiterated its commitment to global harmony and inclusive values at the 11th United Nations Alliance of Civilizations forum held in Riyadh. The statement reflected India’s emphasis on dialogue, pluralism and peaceful coexistence amid rising global divisions.

Indian Representation at the High-Level Meeting

The Indian delegation was led by Ministry of External Affairs Secretary (East) P Kumaran. He delivered India’s statement at the high-level meeting of the Group of Friends of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations. The intervention highlighted India’s consistent support for multilateral platforms that promote intercultural and interfaith understanding.

Emphasis on Civilisational Values

Kumaran underlined India’s civilisational heritage rooted in cultural diversity and coexistence. He referred to the ideals of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, the belief that the world is one family, and Sarva Dharma Samabhav, which advocates equal respect for all religions. These principles, he noted, guide India’s domestic ethos and international engagement.
