India Post Launches 24 Speed Post with Next-Day Delivery Guarantee

The Department of Posts, under the Ministry of Communications, has introduced a new premium service called “24 Speed Post” to ensure faster and reliable delivery of urgent consignments. The initiative aims to enhance logistics efficiency and cater to growing demand from businesses and individuals for time-bound delivery services.

What is 24 Speed Post Service?

The 24 Speed Post is a guaranteed next-day delivery (D+1) service designed for urgent and time-sensitive shipments. Here, ‘D’ refers to the date of booking, and delivery is assured on the following day. It is an upgraded offering under the existing Speed Post category, specifically tailored to meet the needs of bulk and priority customers.

Coverage and Operational Scope

Currently, the service is available across selected metro city pairs, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. It operates seven days a week, including Sundays, ensuring uninterrupted logistics support. The service is limited to parcels weighing up to 5 kilograms, making it suitable for lightweight and critical deliveries.

Key Features and Technology Integration

The 24 Speed Post service incorporates advanced features such as OTP-based delivery verification to ensure secure handover. It also offers end-to-end tracking with real-time alerts, improving transparency and reliability. For business customers, facilities like “Book Now, Pay Later” (BNPL), centralised billing, and API integration are provided to streamline operations and logistics management.
