Forestry and the bioeconomy are becoming important policy tools for sustainable development. Together, they support environmental safeguards, circular use of biological resources, and livelihood resilience while reducing dependence on fossil-based inputs.

Conceptual Framework of Bioeconomy and Forestry

The bioeconomy refers to the production, utilization, and conservation of biological resources using science, technology, and innovation to deliver goods and services across economic sectors. Forestry is a key part of this model because it provides renewable biomass, supports ecosystem services, and helps regulate carbon sinks.
