Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Award

On 3 May 2013 the World Press Freedom Day was observed. UNESCO marks World Press Freedom Day as an opportunity to honor notable contribution to the defence and/or promotion of press freedom across the world by UNESCO-Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Award. Ethiopian Journalist Reeyot Alemu was honoured by 2013 UNESCO-Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize for her “exceptional workings on the root causes of poverty, and gender equality’.
