Giorgia Meloni became the longest continuously serving postwar Prime Minister in the history of the Italian Republic on 4 September 2026 after completing 1,413 consecutive days in office. She assumed office on 22 October 2022 and leads the right-wing Brothers of Italy party, known in Italian as Fratelli d’Italia. She is the first woman to serve as Prime Minister of Italy.
