General Thimayya museum

General Thimayya museum in Karnataka was inaugurated by President Kovind recently. It celebrates the life of the former Army Chief General Kodandera Subayya Thimayya. General Thimayya served as Chief of Army Staff between 1957 and 1961. The museum seeks to honour the life of the General while also displaying the history of the Indian military. Among other things, it houses a battle tank that was used by the Indian Army during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war.
