EU threatens digital tax without global deal after US halts talks

The European Union has threatened imposition of taxes even without a global deal that aimed to decide on the basis for taxation of big digital firms like Facebook, Amazon and Google. This is in retaliation to the US’ decision to quit talks that was organised by Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Nearly 140 countries participated in this negotiation.
