Envisat
Envisat or the Environmental Satellite was an Earth-observing satellite of the European Space Agency (ESA) whose mission has ended in May 2012. It was launched in 2002 from French Guyana, into a Sun synchronous polar orbit at an altitude of 790 km. It orbits the Earth in about 101 minutes with a repeat cycle of 35 days. This satellite was the most advanced environmental spacecraft ever built and the largest civilian Earth observation satellite put into space.
