Notes:
Twenty heritage sites, including ancient mounds at Haryana’s Rakhigarhi have been identified for the ‘National importance’ tag.
The other sites include Anangtal in Delhi,rock painting at Chintakunta, Andhra Pradesh; rock art site Murgi at Rdanag, Leh; Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple, Himachal Pradesh among others. Rakhigarhi site is one of the “five iconic sites” declared by the Centre in the Union budget 2020-21.

The Parliament has recently passed the Weapon of Mass Destruction and their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Amendment Bill 2022.
Ministry of External Affairs introduced the bill. It seeks to amend the 2005 Act and to stop persons from financing any prohibited activity related to weapons of mass destruction and their delivery

20 year old Achinta Sheuli clinched gold medal for India in the Commonwealth Games 2022 in 73-kg category of Weight lifting.
He won the first place with a combined effort of 313 Kilograms (143kg in snatch and 170kg in clean & jerk). Mirabai Chanu and Jeremy Lalrinunnga have earlier claimed gold medals while Bindyarani Devi and Sanketh Sargar picked up silver medals.

‘Muslim Women’s Rights Day’ is observed every year on the first of August to celebrate the enforcement of law against the ‘Triple Talaq’ rule.
The Triple Talaq, also known as Talaq-e-Biddat was made illegal and as per the law the offenders will be jailed up to 3 years and also have to pay fine.

Notes:
The Arunachal Pradesh government inked a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NITI Aayog on the enhancement of the learning outcome of students across 3,000 plus government schools in the state.
The MoU is a three-year partnership (2022 – 25) focusing over two lakh children. The school education transformation project is under NITI Aayog’s Development Support Services for States (DSSS) initiative.
