Bharat Tribes Fest 2026 Showcases Tribal Culture
The Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED), in collaboration with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, is organising Bharat Tribes Fest 2026 from 18 to 30 March at Sunder Nursery, New Delhi. The festival aims to celebrate the diversity, creativity and entrepreneurial strength of tribal communities across India. It was inaugurated by Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram in the presence of Minister of State Durgadas Uikey and other dignitaries.
Celebration of tribal art, craft and cuisine
The festival offers an immersive platform showcasing tribal heritage through handicrafts, handlooms, cuisine and cultural performances. Over 200 curated stalls represent 78 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras and more than 300 master artisans from across the country. Visitors can explore authentic tribal products and interact directly with artisans, promoting both cultural exchange and market access.
Forest-to-Plate and live cultural experiences
A key attraction is the “Forest-to-Plate” initiative, featuring around 120 participants presenting traditional tribal cuisines. The fest also includes 17 live craft demonstrations, allowing visitors to witness indigenous techniques. Cultural evenings feature performances by over 400 tribal artists, showcasing traditional music and dance forms and offering a vibrant cultural experience.
Bharat Tribes Business Conclave
Scheduled from 19 to 27 March 2026, the Business Conclave serves as a platform for dialogue among policymakers, industry leaders and tribal entrepreneurs. Discussions focus on sustainable textiles, tribal food systems, ethical markets and innovation. The conclave also emphasises protection of indigenous knowledge and skill development for tribal youth and women to strengthen community-led enterprises.
