Yoga 365 Campaign Launched to Promote Daily Practice

The Ministry of Ayush has launched “Yoga 365”, a nationwide initiative aimed at encouraging daily adoption of yoga as part of routine life. The campaign was unveiled during Yoga Mahotsav–2026 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, marking the 100-day countdown to the International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026. The initiative seeks to move beyond annual celebrations and embed yoga into everyday wellness practices.

Bridging Awareness and Practice Gap

The campaign addresses the gap between high awareness and limited regular practice of yoga in India. According to National Sample Survey data, awareness of traditional systems like yoga is around 95 per cent in rural areas and 96 per cent in urban regions. However, consistent engagement remains low. Yoga 365 aims to convert awareness into daily habit by promoting yoga for physical fitness, mental clarity and emotional well-being.

Digital Outreach and Accessibility

To enhance accessibility, the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) has partnered with wellness platform Habuild to offer free daily online yoga sessions. This digital approach ensures guided practice across regions and age groups, making yoga more inclusive and convenient. The initiative combines technology with traditional practices to expand outreach.

Integration with Existing Programmes

Yoga 365 builds upon ongoing initiatives such as the Y-Break programme for corporate employees, the Common Yoga Protocol for the general public, and therapeutic yoga modules designed for managing non-communicable diseases. These programmes aim to integrate yoga into workplaces, communities and healthcare systems.
