What is Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP)?

International travel for Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) has entered a new phase of digital transformation with the launch of the Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP). Introduced by the Ministry of Home Affairs, this initiative enables passengers to clear immigration in seconds using biometric verification—no queues, no manual checks, and no interaction with officers.

The FTI-TTP system uses advanced facial recognition and fingerprint biometrics to verify passengers’ identities automatically at e-gates. Once verified, the automated gate opens, granting instant clearance. Registration and Verification Process

To access the facility, travellers must first register online at the official portal — ftittp.mha.gov.in. After applying, passengers are required to visit an immigration office for biometric data capture and verification. The approval process typically takes between 15 and 30 days. Once activated, travellers can simply scan their boarding pass and passport at the designated e-gate, with facial and fingerprint recognition providing automatic clearance.

Airports Covered Under FTI-TTP

Currently, the FTI-TTP is operational at eight major airports: New Delhi (Terminal 3), Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad. Plans are underway to expand the network to 21 major airports across India under the government’s Viksit Bharat @2047 vision. The rollout marks a significant milestone in India’s efforts to modernise its border management and passenger facilitation systems.
