What are the emergency powers of the President under Article 352?
According to Article 352(1), the President may make a proclamation of emergency only when he is satisfied as to the existence of a threat to the security of India, or a part thereof. Thus, the question whether the security of India is threatened or not lies within the subjective satisfaction of the President acting on the advice of the Cabinet.
