Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the 47th All India Public Relations Conference 2025 held in Dehradun, highlighting the growing importance of strategic communication in governance and nation-building. The three-day national event brought together public relations professionals, policymakers, and communication experts from across India and abroad, reinforcing Dehradun’s role as a platform for policy dialogue and professional exchange.

National Conference Hosted in Dehradun

The conference is being organised by the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) and is being hosted in Dehradun from December 13 to 15. Delegates from across the country, along with international participants, including representatives from Russia, are attending the event. The Chief Minister inaugurated the conference by lighting the ceremonial lamp and also visited a photo exhibition and stalls showcasing Uttarakhand’s handicrafts, promoting local art and craftsmanship.

Theme Linked to Viksit Bharat 2047

The conference is centred on the theme “Viksit Bharat @2047: Development as well as Heritage,” aligning communication practices with India’s long-term national vision. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister stated that public relations today extends beyond information dissemination and has become a vital pillar of governance. He stressed that accurate, timely, and credible communication is essential in an era marked by information overload and misinformation, particularly for a disaster-prone and strategically sensitive state like Uttarakhand.

Focus on Governance, Technology and Misinformation

Expert sessions during the conference will cover a wide range of subjects, including Uttarakhand’s 25-year development journey, the evolving role of media and public relations, artificial intelligence, cybercrime, GST, misinformation, and international public relations. The Chief Minister underlined that effective communication systems must be fast, technologically equipped, and sensitive to public sentiment, especially in areas such as disaster management, tourism, and governance.
