Over time, as nation-states emerged, the purpose and style of military parades evolved but remained a potent symbol of national identity.

Parades became a way for nations to galvanise public sentiment and demonstrate military strength.

Military Parades in India

During British colonial rule, India witnessed royal parades that showcased British dominance. After gaining independence, India adopted the military parade tradition.
