Tripura Inaugurates T-Nest Innovation Hub in Agartala
Tripura’s first premier incubation and innovation hub, T-Nest (Tripura: Nurturing Entrepreneurship and Startups), was inaugurated in Hapania, Agartala, marking a significant step towards strengthening the State’s startup ecosystem. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha formally launched the facility under the Tripura State Innovation Mission in the presence of Union Minister of State for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr. Jitendra Singh.
The initiative aims to position Tripura as an emerging innovation-driven economy within the Northeast region.
Boost to Startup Ecosystem
T-Nest is designed as a central platform to connect government departments, educational institutions, industry stakeholders and investors. The hub will provide incubation support, mentorship, networking opportunities and access to funding for aspiring entrepreneurs.
By offering structured assistance and collaborative opportunities, the initiative seeks to promote “Make from Tripura” solutions and encourage local talent to build scalable enterprises.
Northeast as Growth Engine
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Jitendra Singh highlighted the Northeast’s growing role in India’s development trajectory. He noted that improved rail, road and air connectivity under recent national initiatives has strengthened trade, tourism and economic integration in the region.
The establishment of T-Nest aligns with broader efforts to unlock the innovation potential of the Northeast and integrate it more closely with national growth strategies.
Collaboration with T-Hub
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with T-Hub to ensure national-level support and collaboration. The partnership is expected to facilitate knowledge exchange, mentorship networks and access to broader innovation ecosystems.
This collaboration will help Tripura-based startups tap into national and global markets while gaining exposure to advanced incubation models.
