Unveiled in 2016, Swachh Survekshan was introduced to improve urban sanitation by inducing competition among cities and encouraging mass participation. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs launched the field assessment of Swachh Survekshan recently. This is the sixth edition of the annual cleanliness survey. The survey, which usually takes place in January, was delayed due to the COVID-19. The on-field survey will be conducted on 1-28 March by more than 2,000 assessors.
