Swarna Andhra @2047

The Andhra Pradesh government recently launched the Swarna Andhra @2047 vision. This initiative aims to revitalise the state’s economy and governance. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu presented this comprehensive roadmap during the first anniversary of the NDA government. The initiative seeks to transform the state from misgovernance to prosperity.

Key Reforms and Initiatives

In his first month in office, Naidu initiated several reforms. He repealed the AP Land Titling Act. He increased pensions under the NTR Bharosa scheme . The government also recruited over 16,000 teachers and revived Anna Canteens, providing affordable meals to the public.

Infrastructure Development

An ambitious capital plan aims to develop Amaravati into a global knowledge hub. The city is projected to support a population of 3.5 million and create 1.5 million jobs by 2050. The government has secured substantial funding for key projects like Amaravati and Polavaram.

P4 Model for Poverty Eradication

The P4 model (Public-Private-People Partnership) is a mainstay of the vision. It aims to eradicate poverty by 2029. Wealthy individuals will mentor the bottom 20% of the population. This initiative has already registered over 87,000 adoptions.

Investment and Economic Growth

Andhra Pradesh has attracted investments totalling ₹9.34 lakh crore. This influx is expected to generate 8.5 lakh jobs. The state prioritises employment generation over capital intensity. Exports from Andhra Pradesh have rebounded, increasing its share of India’s total exports.

Future Goals and Digital Governance

The government has set an ambitious GSDP growth target of 12.02% for 2024–25. Amaravati will host innovation clusters focusing on quantum technology. Naidu has also called for a digital-first governance model, with plans to launch 703 services on WhatsApp.
