Ramgarh Lake becomes UP’s first notified wetland

The Uttar Pradesh notified Ramgarh Lake in Gorakhpur, which spreads over 737 hectare, under Wetland Management Rule, 2017 in order to restrict industrial and constructional activities around it. This makes it UP’s first notified wetland. The notification has been issued on 15th June to seek people’s response to it. State government has already developed the lake into a tourist spot.
