India won the U19 Cricket World Cup 2026, defeating England by 100 runs in the final held in Harare, Zimbabwe. India batted first, scoring 411/9 in 50 overs, while England were bowled out for 311 in 40.2 overs chasing a target of 412. Vaibhav Suryavanshi (14 years old) starred with 175 runs off 80 balls, laying the foundation for India’s win. Captain Ayush Mhatre contributed 53 runs off 51 balls. This is India’s sixth U19 World Cup title and the largest margin of victory by runs in a U19 final.

Yash Anil Rashiya, a 20-year-old Roll Ball athlete from Surat, won gold medal at the 7th Roll Ball World Cup 2025 in Dubai representing India. He was selected among 12 elite players for Team India. Rashiya scored key goals against Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Pakistan, Egypt, and the match-winning goal in the final against Kenya. His performance played a decisive role in India’s World Cup title win. He began skating in 2009 and shifted to Roll Ball in 2017 under coach Jaimin Bharat Patel. His achievements highlight India’s growing strength in Roll Ball and Surat’s rise on the global sports map.

Hockey India signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Telangana to host the Women’s 2026 International Hockey Federation (FIH) Hockey World Cup Qualifiers in Hyderabad from March 8 to 14, 2026. The event underscores India’s growing prominence in international hockey and Telangana’s emergence as a major destination for hosting global sporting events. The tournament will feature eight teams, namely India, England, Scotland, Korea, Italy, Uruguay, Wales, and Austria. The top three teams from the qualifiers will earn direct qualification for the FIH Hockey World Cup Belgium & Netherlands 2026, scheduled from August 15 to 30, 2026.

The Indian cricket team won the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007. The final was held on September 24, 2007, in Johannesburg, South Africa. India defeated Pakistan by 5 runs. India won its first-ever Squash World Cup title in 2025 by defeating top seeds Hong Kong China at Express Avenue Mall, Chennai. India improved from a bronze medal in the 2023 edition to gold in 2025. The Indian team, seeded second, did not lose a single match throughout the tournament. India became the fourth nation after Australia, England, and Egypt to win the Squash World Cup. Squash will debut at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028.

Germany won the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Men’s Junior Hockey World Cup 2025, defeating Spain 3-2 in a shoot-out after a 1-1 draw in regulation time. The final was held at Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai, concluding the 13-day tournament that began on November 28 and was held across Chennai and Madurai. Justus Warweg scored for Germany in the 26th minute, while Nicolas Mustaros equalised for Spain in the 33rd minute. India won the bronze medal, defeating Argentina 4-2, marking their first bronze and adding to their previous tally of two golds and one silver in the tournament.
